In today’s world, corporations have no loyalty to their employees. If you work in technology, that should be crystal clear now.

People are employed as long as they provide positive value to the companies’ goals. Usually that is defined by profits. That is capitalism, and expecting anything else is foolish.

The same applies in reverse. I give 100% to my employer, until they no longer meet my goals. My definition of goals being successfully met is not only salary but also stress levels, work life balance, etc. The typical things all employees want.

So how does a person stay ahead of trends to future-proof their career?

There is no fool-proof method out there, but I have found these strategies help me stay very aware of what is happening in the tech industry and guides me to where I should focus my next steps.
